With his dazzling technique, astounding versatility and charismatic personality, Chris Hamilton has been described by New York critics as "the real deal" and "a total showman”. In the UK The Daily Telegraph hailed him as "an ace pianist". Chris began playing the piano at the age of four. After winning several national competitions, he won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, London. Chris read Law at Oxford University and worked as a lawyer in the City of London and New York. In 2000 Chris decided to concentrate fully on performing. Chris has performed in cabaret all over the world from the House of Commons to Bangkok and was flown to Melbourne, Australia to perform at a private party. He has headlined the Savoy Hotel, London and the famous Hippodrome. In 2017 he appeared in “A Spoonful of Sherman” receiving rave reviews including the following: “Star of the show is Chris Hamilton with his sparkling, pitch perfect accompaniment and occasional show stealers”. He was awarded the Silversea Guest Entertainer of the Year in 2017.
Chris is a keen writer and his first musical, Over The Threshold, was critically acclaimed and won the MTM Award for Best Music leading to a sell out transfer in London’s West End and Vienna. In 2014 he wrote a piece for the English National Ballet which was performed at the Barbican Theatre. Chris is gaining fans worldwide who appreciate not just his prodigious musical gifts but his easy charm and sophisticated performing style.
